This $800,000 project was supported by the Trust who raised $300,000 in donations and grants to ensure that it could proceed.
This saw a three-level extension built on to the existing South Canterbury Museum building to provide 5500m2 of storage and work area for the Museum’s collections.
This in turn enabled former storage areas in the older part of the building to be opened out to create more exhibition space.
